I have seen thier "brady bunch" knockoff a couple of times now and it is just silly. If they wanted to due a Brady Bunch theme then why did they stick a chinese girl and two black kids in it? What's next a Cosby show commerical with an eskimo, a white girl and a hispanic?

I know exactly what you mean. 95% of the commercials that we see these days have "token" blacks, asians, hispanics, etc just for the sake of being seen as non-prejudiced. This kind of defeats the point

IMH, all fo teh old navy commericials sucks ass. i mean cmon, have you seen the ones for tech vests and the other nonsense.? omg... crap crap crap

have you considered that far more than 5% of their sales come from non-white people?

i've never understood why they put the prices of the clothes in the commericials, no other retail store does this (to my knowledge)

no, I didnt, considering I was talking about "token" actors.

Consider the pillsbury strudel commercial: White kid throws a pop tart in his garage, black kid gives white kid a strudel, and then they proceed to do some fancy "hand shaking" (sorta like shaking hands, then touching each others fists)

But why would they be token if they represent a large part of the ausdience a product is trying to reach? If it were a product that only white people ever buy and they put a black person there solely to avoid charges of discrimination, that would be a "token" 🙂 I live in a state where over 60% of the population is Asian or Pacific Islander. Most of our local commercials have a "token" white person in them 😉

The commercial serves well, i cant remember the last time i seen a big group of white people wearing old navy around here, all i see is light brown to black skined people wearing old navy 🙂

Dude, you ever walk into a public school these days? You might be shocked to see that it's a big mix of races... We ain't in the 60's bro

They have sucky commercials, and for the most part sucky clothes (IMHO). However, they do have some hottie customers.

For example... I was in there w/ my wife the other day and there was a woman with some huge bolt ons modeling the childrens t-shirts. She was literally flaunting herself seeing how stretchy the super small t-shirt went across her breasts. Trying on different colors of the SAME type shirt. She was flirting with this one sales guy the whole time. Of course, no pics to post-- like I could take pics even if I had a cam and my wife wasn't there!

If I didn't know any better I'd say it was one of those hidden camera deals where they try and embarass somebody with a hot looking woman doing rediculous things. Maybe it was, fortunately I was (mostly by necessity) incognito so I won't be on TV if it was.

Actually, commercials need to reflect many races of our society. A few years back, a home builder was sued because they didn't feature any other models other than white couples. Take a peek at the real estate section in any major newspaper this weekend and look at the ads - you'll see many ads featuring many different races. Since George Wallace isn't our president, this is the way it's going to be from now on.

Robert Reed (Mike Brady) is gay. Little known fact, but my mom is obsessed with the Brady Bunch on TVLand, so that's how I know.

Molly Sims was hot. I liked her commercials the best. Morgan Fairchild is super hot. 🙂 I have some pics of her from back in the day.... damn. 😉
