i have the motorola dual tuner dvr from comcast. got it installed on the 11th, and none of the menus (on screen guide stuff) would work, so i exchanged for a new DVR on saturday. that worked for a day, and now i'm getting this green digital distortion on every channel. if i plug the cable directly into the tv it's fine, so this is something with the box. of course retarded comcast support can never fix anything. anyone know why the f this would start happening all of a sudden? i want to smash this god damn thing.

This is the second, third or fourth Comcast problems/sucks thread I have seen in as many days. I was thinking about a switch, but now I think not.

I know this is no help, but I absolutely hate Comcast. However, I am in an apartment and do not feel like doing the whole satellite thing yet

By green digital distortion, are you talking about a green vertical line on the right part of the screen?

My DVR has worked fine since January. I've occassionally seen green lines show up for a slipt second in a few shows (probably a glitch in the encoder), but I've not run into any of the issues you have had. Maybe you've just gotten really unlucky with your units.

Were the units you had brand new or did they look like they had been used before? Mine was brand new out of the box, since I got talked to a CSR and got mine when they first started offering them in my area (before they even started being advertised), which may explain why mine has been so well behaved.

no, i'm talking about green horizontal lines of pixels all over the screen. It's absolutely ridiculous.
