WTF is up with Counterstrike D/L install?

This is weak! I've tried D/L-ing CounterStrike from 6 websites using Getright and a FTP program. Full windows version 82 Megs. Each time I try and install it on Windows 2000 I get a I/O error corrupt file? This is BS! :|

BA just tried to upload it to me but I can send him files but he cant send me files for some reason. We think it might be my Netgear Router stopping him but dont know how to make it work!

Illkid I downloaded CS from that site and guess what? Thats right another I/O error! I even tried installing it on another computer here that at home that has Windows 2000 and still get the I/O error. I ll try one more time from that site but from a differant location server maybe.

Anyone else have any ideal's. Beside buying the game? I have Half-Life already.

BTW..Im really going to be pissed after I get this game and it sucks!!! :|

Wow, having more problems than me, thats a first. Have you tried not using Getright? Thats the only thing I can think of..

Yelp, tried getright and a FTP program. Off now to try to D/L it agian! Thank goodness for Cable Modems!! Of course when its working!! hehehe

Yelp Windows 2000. Just D/L another AND another I/O error. I just dont get it.

I think BeHeMOTH is going to hook me up tomorrow.

BeHeMOTH came over a week ago with the CD and we couldnt even get it to work on WIndows 2000. Keep crashing with a black screen and couldnt even Control/Alt/Delete to get out of it. Had to keep rebooting the PC. Never got it to work!

I wounder If downloading this wickedgl will help. Im running a Voodoo 3-3500 card.

Any updated paths out anywere? I've tried reading CS fourms but didnt find anything that looked helpful for me.

When I d/l it I had a V3-3k and had no problems under 98SE, but half-life wouldnt run right using the 3dfx mini driver, had to use the default OpenGL driver. Still use the default OpenGL driver w/ my V5-5500 card.

The worst thing that sucks about CS is me trying to shoot something GOD I suck lol
Maybe I will get better with time, surely cant get any worse, unless I just fall over dead when the clock starts.

This might help you..or maybe it won't. I have DLed a demo and no mater how many different places I got it from..I would get an error message. It was because I was saving it in one place and trying to install it to another. Or copying elsewhere. Save the file exactly where you are going to install it or install it from whence you saved it. Somebody else had this problem recently and following my advice it worked. Good Luck ...

Yes, it does work with win2k. Go to 3dfiles.net and try downloading it again. I'm on win2k and I download *all* my CounterStrike/HalfLife/Game updates/patches there, never had a problem. I downloaded my CS 1.0 from there too. Give it a shot.
