Wtf is up with computer builders?

I keep on seeing facebook pics of shoddily built computers and have to wonder why... I mean I know it takes no skills to put together a computer but at least try to route the wires so that it doesn't look like you hired a three year old with palsy...

Core i7 + stock heatsink + mess of wires = crap...

At least invest in some zip ties if you're gonna spend $300 on a motherboard...

If I'm building a cheap (< $300) computer I don't bother with cable management.

Budget CPUs generally don't output enough heat for it to effect airflow significantly, though.

There's life outside the internet?

You'd hate my case.

I have four SSDs loose on the bottom, with 5 other HDDs in the normal slots.

I gave up on fancy cable-work long ago...too annoying when you switch out components often.

It's the inside of a computer. Who cares what it looks like?
This isn't 1999 with ribbon cables everywhere. If you're choking off airflow with a proliferation of SATA, you should really see someone about your porn addiction.

Have them mounted all pretty with cables folded away neatly doesn't make them any faster 😀

Windows on computer cases are like huge spoiler wings and fart can exhausts on your Civic -- they're the loser teen fanbois' idea of class and distinction.

As long as your air flow isn't impeded, how fussy you decide to be with your cables is nobody else's business but your own.

Good for airflow though, and moving components don't need cables in them, like fans etc. I'm just really anal aswell... So... That's probably why I'm like that.

Yes but it makes it so that I can bump into it without bumping a cable into a fan. It doesn't have to be perfect but it should meet this requirement and then some.

I never bought into the whole window thing even when I was a teen. Workmanship matters though.

this I can understand. I tie the cables to the chassis at key points. it ain't pretty but whatever.

the real reason I don't make it pretty is because a lot of the cables are rigid as **** and a real pain to bend and force through openings.

'Airflow' for my computer means having the side door off so that the table-top fan can cool it down when the office gets to 90+F.

Well, i have a PC for moving around for LAN parties; it's not my main system.

Of course, since my friends & I get together upstairs anyway for our current LANs, i can take my Haf 932 w/ loose SSDs on the bottom upstairs just fine.

I've had 6+ HDDs in my main PCs for so long now i stopped bothered with really fancy cable management since it's just too annoying if you swap out drives, etc.

I presently have 4 SSDs + 5 HDDs in the main PC, & i've left the SSDs loose lying on the bottom since i admit i've been too lazy to look for better cases or ways to mount them.
They aren't hurting airflow one bit where they are, & looks, well, i don't spend any time showing off my case to anyone...

my SSDs are held on with duct tape. they were loose but bounced around when the computer was moved.

i should get some shorter SATA cables. the long ones are a pain in the rear to deal with. and in the P180 the power supply cables come up right where the SATA ports are.

my case is also full of cardboard from miller high life packages.

Hey brah, here's my sandy bridge build. It's an i2600k (because I wanted it to be an i7 for the extra 2 i's.)
