Looks to me like someone made a thingamajig just to see what people would do. Look at the parts; ringer from a washing machine, flexible duct tubes, vacuum cleaner hoses...???? Maybe they were hiding behind a dune or a rock and taking pictures, hoping someone would think it an alien UFO crash debris. Well, just think'

Yeah. Not a real robot, just "art."

Theo Jansen can actually do "real machine" and "art" at the same time, this is just a pile of goofy stuff.
 
My guess is it's like a scuba suit for humans but instead is built to keep a octopus alive so they can explore us.
