Sweet! Post up some results with that freezer you are using :D I just ordered the 2400+ mobile and AN35NU to play with before handing off to a client. It'll just have an ALX-800 and panaflo for cooling but if it does 2.5ghz without sounding like the airport he will be stoked.

i can't stick it under the prommy yet.

i've been searching for weeks for an amd mounting kit.

it's been a frustrating search but i finally found one on sunday from a user at xtreme. :)

so we traded kits and i should have it by... thursday or friday! :)

my mobile 2500+ already does 2.6 ghz @ 1.85 volts...

if this mobile 2400+ can do 2.6 or even 2.7 @ 1.85 then i think this chip will have a good chance at 3 ghz under a prommy.

2.6ghz would be a nice bonus on air, what cooling is that with Shim? Thanks.

i'll do air first of course now tha ti have an air cooler...

i have two air coolers, an alx800 and a thermalright SP-97, the mother of all air coolers!

:)

i'll stick the chip in tonight.

i'll start around the 2.4 mark and work up. hopefully i can get to 2.6+ with this one on air.

yes, but they have extra advantagess such as being able to take more heat, lower op voltage, lower power consumption, and more head room for overclocking...

Through OCing you can generally reach higher speeds on the mobile processors than you could ever hope for on the desktop counterparts. You're pretty much guaranteed a chip that will do 2.3ghz. Typical averages on air do speeds of 2.3ghz-2.5ghz with not too heavy voltage.

I'll have my 35w mobile tomorrow early afternoon. I'll add my results to Shimmi's almost as soon as I slap the CPU into the socket and boot up :)

Oh wow. That's very sweet. I wonder if we can hope to expect that sort of result or better with the 2400+ variety...
