Might be interesting to try though.

That doesn't mean they'd make it through the validation that AMD puts them through to ensure they'll run at the specified voltage with a margin of error included to allow for variances in power supplies and motherboards.

we're more interested in how the chip overclocks... also, just because a chip runs at the same voltage and frequency as another chip, doesn't mean it's just as good.

Nowhere did I say the 1.45v mobiles are just as good as the 1.35v mobiles, or vice versa. What I did say, was that I was interested in them, just like you are. AMD validation or not, I know some 1.45v mobiles can do that speed at that voltage. It was just a simple statement, nothing more to look into.

I've been thinking, and I'm pretty close to ordering one of these. Would anyone be interested in seeing my tests if I get one?

That model code is definitely for the 35w mobile. $87 is a good price too. I think it's time to order :)

Bah...I'm currently in the middle of a move, and an address change for my bank account + all CC cards is pending...I can't order at the moment, since I don't know when the change will be verified. I should know in a couple days. So annoying.

1.85v actual, 1.875 bios :)
I don't run it like that during normal usage, though. Have to keep the thing alive :p

Newegg has updated the info on the 2400+ 1.35 volt mobile chip. It is in fact 1.35 volts - 35 watts!!! Someone buy it and tell us how it overclocks!

Thanks again for the link, DaNorthface. It was a good find :)
Sooner than expected, I've got this processor ordered. Hopefully newegg will send it out tonight. I'll have it Thursday.

haha... this is getting VERY tempting now. I already have a barton at 2.4 ghz though, hopefully this will substain me. I think I will only buy a new one if a batch is consistantly getting over 2.6 (which won't happen).

Perhaps I should have swallowed the $2 for rush processing. I'm sitting at Step 2 on the Newegg order status screen clicking refresh every once in a while. I can't wait for it to ship. I'm going to have to do something about my cooling situation when I get the chip. My generic steel case with virtually no airflow is going to hurt testing. Perhaps I'll wait until no one is home, open my case's side panel, lay it on its side underneath the AC vent, and crank the AC down really low for a bit :p
Or, I could turn my TT V7 on to the dreaded "high" speed and get some earplugs :D

This may be incentive to hurry up and get my Lian Li case replacement.
