I like how you'll get the ones where they'll stop sending them (tell you how to protect yourself from the spam) if you click a link and send them 5 dollars or whatever.

I had Win2k installed on my computer for two years or so and never got one of those. Then within the past month or so, I got one. So I disabled that service.

GRC Gibson Reseach Has a utility that disbales that. He also has other utilities and such, and has a port tester to see what ports on your compputer are open on the internet.

Just went to that popup blocker site, they chrage 29.95 for that software, which is rediculous. I really feel like they are taking advantage of people that way, and they are sending out messages from their own company to make people buy their product!

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services -> Messenger
1) Disable startup type
2) Stop Service Status

Yes I have it. Is that the cause? I had the toolbar for a year now and this crap just started.
Now messenger is turned off.

No, that's not the cause. I meant that as a counter for a $30 popup blocker.

If you turn off messenger service in services, you should set. Use some tweak guides for more configuring:
