WTF is this? My Foot has this blister with an eye and it hurts like hell

I don't know how I developed this but I'm sure it's not from being unsanitary.

There's this blister-like thingy under my left foot that is persistently hurting me whenever pressure is applied. It's not really a blister because it's not sticking out but it's a small circle in pale color (i assume there's no blood in there?) with a small eye in the center (little hole)

The pain is best described as throbbing... and it's been pissing me off for past 2 weeks..

Anyone know what this is called and how it can be treated? I hear you can apply some thick gooey medicine stuff that heals it... i dunno

LOLyourFace!

damn right. that's a plantar wart. best way to get rid of it is go to a nurse clinic and have the freeze it off. the pain and throbbing is worth it. 🙂

most likely a wart, you can get somesortof a wart remover products that take an awfully long time to work.

You could go to a doctor and have it taken care of, they either freeze it or burn it, both probably hurt alot, I know freezing it hurts😛

Baffled could be right. Get it checked out, TRUST ME! I had them and they spread all over both feet, and hurt so bad it was hard to walk normal. I got some stuff in the experiementing stage called "Aldara" that was supposed to be for genital worts. It was white cream that you would smear thickly on the warts and DUCT TAPE it SEALED to your foot before bed each night and take it off in the morning. It stopped the spreading, and they eventually went away.

Or you can go one of the other two routes. Either A) he cuts them out of your foot with a knife, and the virus(it is a virus) stays in you, probably coming back, or B) he freezes them with liquid nitrogen and shatters it, but still leaving the virus rampant in your body. The Aldara worked and they've been gone for about 2-3 years now, no signs left.

BTW, I had to have a prescription for it. It was cheap, like 5 bucks for a week or two. It took a while, but the effect is SO worth it.

Hmm.. my dad says he carved it off himself with a knife :Q

Can i be ghetto like him and cut it off myself without having to goto a doctor? I don't think it'll bleed if i carve the effected area carefully..

Thank you Google

Overview
Plantar warts occur on the sole (plantar surface) of the foot. They can be very painful because the entire weight of the body presses against them continuously when standing or walking. Plantar warts are usually rough, bumpy, and spongy, although some may be thick and scaly. Most are gray or brown and have a center with one or more dark pinpoints. These are tiny capillaries that supply blood to the wart. Scraping the wart may cause it to bleed. Untreated, plantar warts may grow up to an inch in circumference and may spread into clusters.

Causes

Warts are benign tumors that can occur anywhere on the skin. The human pappiloma virus (HPV), a common organism, causes warts. The virus is often encountered on contaminated surfaces, typically the tile floors of public locker rooms, showers, and swimming pools and invades the body through tiny cuts or breaks in the skin. Normally, antibodies in the blood kill the virus. Some people are more susceptible to the human pappiloma virus than others, however, and HPV takes refuge in the skin.

A plantar wart is similar in structure to an iceberg. The part on the surface is a small fraction of the entire anomaly. Often, the portion of the wart under the skin is at least twice as big as the part you can see.

Many of these viruses die within a year or two and the warts they produce simply disappear. Many podiatrists recommend having them removed because they are irritating and often painful.

Treatment

There are several different techniques for removing plantar warts:

Acid One of the most common methods is to burn them off with a mild acid applied topically to the wart. This disintegrates the viral cells and allows healthy skin cells to replace them. Multiple applications over the course of several weeks may be required, but the technique is very successful.

Cryotherapy Freezing warts with a very cold solution (e.g., sodium nitride) can kill the virus, causing the wart to turn black and fall off within a few days. Cryotherapy is sometimes ineffective on plantar warts because the cold may not penetrate far enough to kill the virus completely.

Laser Treatment Doctors can use lasers to kill the virus. The procedure can be performed in the physician's office and is effective, clean, and accurate. It also is expensive and some physicians do not use laser treatment for warts because the benefits do not warrant the cost.

Debridement In this technique, the physician uses a scalpel to remove the warts under anesthetic. This is often the procedure of choice for numerous small warts in a limited area. It also can be used with acid to ensure the virus is killed and prevent the warts from regrowing.

Complications

Warts can regrow, indicating that the virus is still growing in the body. The virus that causes plantar warts is relatively benign and causes few problems, but it can spread to other parts of the body. Blood from a wart contains the virus and can cause a new wart to grow in an area that it touches. Therefore, it is important to treat warts and eliminate them as quickly as possible.

Um yes, you WILL bleed. If not, it will hurt like a mofo and it WILL come back.

I do not advise trying the quick removal things. They are fine, but more warts can show in in LITERALLY a day. I had ONE wart, like yours, on my heel...which turned into about 8 on the heel, 3 on the pad, and about 4 on the other foot.

Talk to a doctor. Your dad is ghetto. 😉

However....I did cut into the big one of mine at one time, as they were receeding, and found a little red or dark vien like thing which I pulled out like a chicken vien in my foot. It even snapped back. 😀 I must admit, though, that that particular wart seemed to go away much fast after that. But I did this after I had used the cream for awhile and the skin had begun to dry and seemed to begin dying, so it wasn't TOO painful.

wow...thanks...I have one of these on my foot and it kinda hurts sometimes and its not a callus...so I figured it would go away after awhile, but I keep playin basketball and walkin on it and it hasn't.

didn't digging the eye out hurt like a son of a bitch?

Like I said, the cream had killed a lot of the skin and made it fairly painless until I got to the core...which was tender and when I rippped out the vien it DID hurt like a motherfscker. Then, IIRC, I got blood. 😀

But you can't trust this to get rid of them all. Remember, they are all under your skin more than likely and you need to KILL the virus, not just hurt a piece of it. It's like either you blow the fscking bridge up or you sit there and hack away at it with a knife for years. 😉

about 15 years ago i had a wart on my elbow and i kept picking at it until it scabbed up and then i picked it some more until i ripped off the bump part of it. inside i could see tiny little black seed things and i picked those out and then it never came back. this was done over a few weeks or more probably. i still have a scar on my elbow from it. picking at things is fun! it doesn't matter if it hurts.

I had about 3-4 warts on my hands several years ago, back in the 6th grade I think.

I tried the bandages that have the acid stuff on em, kept the pads in place at all times, and it never phased the warts much.

Then I had a doctor froze em off with a can of cold stuff that he affixed a cotton-tipped applicator to the end of, worked like a charm.

i tried picking out mine... i can stand the pain... but it came back. plus i made myself bleed. it got all fibery and stuff. interesting, but i'd recommend the freezing route. your foot will throb but it'll go away soon.

freezing... buring, you guys got off easy, when i had two of them taken off my right foot he just numbed my foot a bit and sliced it off.

Ugh, good luck. Supposedly they will leave on their own 'sooner or later', but sometimes later is a long, long time.

My daughter has gone in to Dr. 3x for the freezing, it's stilling hangin' in there though. I read somewhere where one of the OTC ulcer meds (maybe it was Tagamet?, something like that) was supposed to be effective in getting them to leave, but she is too young to take it.

I had one of these a few months back. I'd had it for like 6 months and didn't know what the hell it was. I tried picking it off but that didn't work. I finally got a great idea that got rid of it: Wash my feet! I started doing that and it cleared up in a week. 🙂

One interesting thing I remember hearing is that when they burn warts off with a laser the fumes can (obviously) breathed in and cause your lungs to grow some nice things as well. Though this may be an urban legend...

I had some on my feet for a few months, eventually you'll give up with the over the counter topical stuff and forget about them altogether...and one day you'll look and notice that they're gone.
