what sucked was when we threw a party at our place and 2 of our neighbors came over and had a good time, their roommates called the cops on us

- not living in your own home sucks
- if you can't help it, then you have to deal with all kinds of rude/inconsiderate people around you
- if you continually disagree with the noise thing, make them prove it... in person. You know you're not doing it... make them show you that you are.
- live on the top floor whenever possible. 😉

well the problem with bass anyway is that you physically cannot tell what direction it is coming from.

i say screw them, like optoman said, they moved into an upstairs apartment, they shouldn't be fvcktards about hearing sounds

You know what sucks, living on the second floor of a building with three floors. Then you get the nice noise from the people below and above you. Not usually too much of a problem though because I live in a college apartment, so no old people complaining that we're "making noise too late" at 11. Plus it cuts down on people getting up super early on the weekend, which kicks ass.

But man, those guys we had above us last year always sounded like they were moving their furniture around. Kind of annoying, especially at 6 AM (on a Sunday morning). Eh, that's apartments for you though.

As for your situation, you got to be quiet if you have anal people around, but it sounds like you were. I'd just talk to the manager and tell them the people are full of it.

Has it occurred to you that since you can hear EVERYTHING going on upstairs, that your downstairs neighbors probably hear everything YOU do? It's not like your floor is magically sound-absorbent dude. Remember that 35' across carpet, through doors and walls is a lot farther for sound to travel than straight downwards through a few inches of floor. Just because you can't hear the bass doesn't mean it's not shaking the apt. below you.

The winner!
