ugh....my wife. All night errry night

These games, comic strips, etc., wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so easy for them to invade your feed. I know they can be disabled, still... the endless invites to this, that, and the other just gets old. It would be nice if you could mark your profile as "closed" to all app invites permanently. Who knows, maybe you can these days?

Are you implying the only value Facebook has is its app garbage?

I'm not implying anything. I'm explicitly saying facebook has virtually no value. For a couple cents of drive storage and some software, you get a man in the middle attack of all your communications, and the tracking of all the websites you visit outside of facebook. It's a blight on the internet.

How else am I supposed to passively socialize? Most people I know are not on ATOT.

Quick and dirty is using IM or email. For something more fully featured, create your own site. Ideally, everyone would have their own federated "facebook", and they would link to their friends, and control the data they share. That can be done today, but it isn't trivially easy, which is necessary for the less technically inclined.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Couldn't agree more.

blocked it a few months ago. your friends are way behind.

funny how it progresses.

about a year ago, I had one friend start using it... he'd post maybe 1-2 every couple weeks and I got a chuckle out of them.

then sometime over the summer/fall, it fricken exploded and suddenly my FB wall was getting spammed by everyone's stupid comics. at that point, I just had to block them all.

BikeJunkie = Napoleon Dynamite.

Bitstrip is the most retarded thing of all time! Just leave me alone-GOSH!

Does the vapid userbase have large talons?

So you're saying FB has similar function to IM and email? That seems to be of value.

Sure it has value. Everything has value. Facebook's value vs privacy makes it a bad deal. A 1986 Chevy junker has value, but if it costs the same as a 2013 Porsche, that makes it bad deal.
