Having lived in Texas, I don't get why you'd go into a sauna for FUN either.

Is it the fever that's bad? I always thought its just a symptom. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your TOO hot its bad, but if your <105 your not dead and your body is just building white blood cells/fighting off the infection/virus/whatever and needs to be hotter to work faster. Fever is unpleasant and makes you uncomfortable but does wiping your forehead with cold water or taking painkillers actually do anything to fight/kill infection? They definitely provide relief for the symptoms but do they do much else?

so uh, anybody with actual knowledge on the topic?

Saunas are very homeopathic (note the "e") in their purpose. They are believed to help people sweat out toxins in their body. They also have more scientifically backed uses such as joint and muscle relief as well as for therapy for respiratory illness such as asthma and chronic bronchitis.

Thanks. Will try it out tonight then I suppose.

Anybody got sauna etiquette? If you don't wanna post on here for fear of being berated, feel free to pm me ;)

You MUST wear a santa hat for the first 10 minutes. It?s law.

on my penis or on my head? both? what do I do after 10 minutes?

I don't think I'm going to fill the hat...unless I'm in a constant state of arousal...or maybe even if I am...

On your penis. After 10 minutes you are then required to remove the Santa hat and run around naked chanting loudly a ?war cry? of your choice.
