WTF can't I EVER update an app from my iPhone or iTunes without it failing?

So damn annoying!

The only thing I can ever do is totally remove the apps that have updates, download them again and reinstall them again.

Same story for my wife's iPhone.

Has anyone had this same issue and found a way to fix it?

I love my iPhone over all but holy crap this is pushing me to the brink of regretting getting it.

Same thing happens to me but the biggest difference here is that I am so lazy I simply don't delete them and just ignore updating them now. But now everything I dock my phone it says there is like 9 errors and list each app or some crap.

Poorly setup for sure.

The problem is it stops updating as soon as you click onto another application. I've had the same problem with my Touch, and to be honest, there is no reason why background downloading and installing of an update for an application should be left out.

I am hopeful Apple will implement a nice background downloading service in the next firmware update.

Odd, can't say that I've ever had a problem with updating. Although I don't usually launch other third party apps during the process. It does piss me off that they rearrange the icons every time though :|

same here. My only problems have been 1 phone crash (reboot due to an app), , 1 phone freeze (frozen due to an app and I manually rebooted), numerous app crashes that even crashed subsequent program executions, and that's about it.

The phone seems solid, but the apps are sketchy as hell.

I never had a problem with the app update either, and I'm on Vista x64.

My problem is syncing with Windows mail, or Outlook. That crashes every time, but if I run it over & over, it will complete.
