Good call Luke. They could use a blue LED to fill the hole, and the things would fly off the shelves!

I hope you're not talking to me, if you are, then that's scary :/

I can't fit more than 100 decent MP3s on a cd. My collection is 10+ gb large, MP3 cds don't cut it.

For me, all that matters is that they have AUX inputs in the back - that way I can connect my iPod. Having cables plug into the front looks like crap, AUX is all that matters if you want to make a good looking setup.

alpine units with ai.net have an auxillary hookup for ipods that lets you control the ipod from the head unit along with showing the information that is selected....

They are also both XM & Sirius Ready. I really wish these had been out when I bought my Pioneer DEH-7600MP earlier this year.

That's the one I've got. Other than the knob being very finicky, I've got no complaints. You can barely notice the AUX input unless you're looking for it. Definitely worth it.

What I do is buy HUs with AUX inputs in the rear and some el-cheapo surface mount RCA jacks and put them in my adapter plates (Although I assume that new cars don't require adapter plates nearly as often)

Net increase in cost? $1. Net increase in time? 10 minutes.

Edit: Crutchfield no longer lists my HU on their website. I *JUST* bought 3 of them, though. wtf.

Dual XDM6810. I suppose I killed off the last of their stock. Pretty good HU for an offbrand, that's why I got three. My one complaint is that it's a bit difficult to spot the button labels in daylight because they're light blue translucent with white writing. Not that it matters, after the first 45 seconds you already know what they are.

You actually can buy 2 el-cheapo surface mount RCA jacks for $1.00? Solder them to an input cable with necessary plugs (also purchased for less than $1.00), attach it to an adapter plate, and attach that to your dash somewhere, in 10 minutes? BTW, speaking of the aesthetics of an eighth inch jack in the front of a head unit, what does this adapter plate look like on, or under your dash?

Buy an eclipse deck. It wont have it in the front but you can get an adapter then mount it in somewhere on your dash. This way it will look better and eclipse makes badass decks!

Don't know where you guys got yours, but my head unit has two inputs in front....heck she even has one in the back for those night when we are feeling a bit kinky.

The quality of FM trasmitters sucks, and they take extra batteries.

I am picking up a replacement HU soon, because my OEM died, and it will have a rear AUX input. I am putting a 1 din unit in a 1.5 din (GM) stereo slot, so I can run the AUX cable through the little storage compartment that is needed because of the extra space.

I just picked this one up along with 2 sets of cheap speakers for my POS truck. Hopefully it'll play good.
