WTF Is it me or Survivorman is garbage now? So disappointed.

Les Stroud always felt very genuine, filming in his own in true solitary. The show even feels peaceful- a refreshing break from my city work life.

I looked up his latest shows. I was delighted to find there was season 6. The ENTIRE season is devoted to the BS that is finding bigfoot.

There was one scene he finds a squeaky clean & bleach white animal spine in wilderness. He picks it up and ponders if a bigfoot is responsible for this.

What is this garbage??? Am I watching Ghost Hunters?

If you're going to fake it, at least put some effort into it- make the spine look soiled or have some bits of flesh attached to it. This prop spine was picked straight out of a high school biology lab.

I turned it off right there and went to bed. I didn't take him for such a sell out.

So you missed the part where they got some night vision footage of the 'squatch picking apples off the tree ?? Ohhhh duuuude, sux2bu !!!

After 5 seasons of dropping Les off in an unfriendly environ, its actually a nice change of pace to see how he addresses skeptics.

What? Don't tell me they came up with a lame half-baked big foot sighting footage. Blech.

I think Les truly believes he's had bigfoot encounters. He's talked about them several times years ago. The Joe Rogan podcast comes to mind. I didn't know he went the TV show route to cash in. It seemed like he was always a little reluctant and embarrassed to talk about it because he knew the stigma attached with it. Looks like he got over that.

Come on. Even a first line of wiki rules out bigfoot's existence by applying some basic logic:

Most scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax,[6] rather than a living animal, because of the lack of physical evidence and the large numbers of creatures that would be necessary to maintain a breeding population

He was just hyping his upcoming bigfoot show on that podcast.

I agree OP. I loved the show for the same reasons.
I watched one episode of his bigfoot crap and I was disgusted.

I don't care if they ran out of ideas. Do it all AGAIN and I would still watch.

Bigfoot talk completely turned me against the show.

what a shame indeed.

I loved Survivorman seasons 1 to 5. It's literally the only reality show I liked since it was literally reality. Ratings were also very far away from the joke that was Man vs. Wild.

Season 6 is a horrendous. You can tell the reboot of Survivorman was tweaked to appeal to a much broader audience. Sadly, the broader audience is made up of morons.

I dunno that it was ever "reality." Les would always go in advance of a shoot and spend weeks learning all the tips and tricks for surviving in the area. But it was genuine in the sense that it was just him and the camera. Great show.

mus more reality that that faker Bear.

He can't continue to make survivor-man episodes because of the toll that takes on his body. He was the real deal. I'm sure at times he went weeks without eating. His weight yo-yo'ing around. All for one episode.

He claimed to have heard a large creature banging a branch against a tree and making ape like noise in the middle of BFE Canada. So that's why they spent the season looking for bigfoot. But, they didn't find jack shit and now it's time to end that adventure and go back to the original format.
