WTF is going on here?

So the company that I work for officially signed the paperwork and entered into a JV with another semiconductor company.

This morning, we were scheduled to have a "town hall" to discuss the JV. Silly us, we thought it was about the one that we just entered into and were prepping all of the systems for migration to.

Now, about an hour ago, we get a press release stating that the JV (which is barely two weeks old) has entered into a JV with another company.

This is after the original creator of this company/department sold to the current (I think that they are still part of it) owner which bought this division in Sept. of last year.

Cliffs:
Division was sold to another semiconductor company in Sept. 07
Division entered into a JV with another semiconductor company signing paperwork on Aug. 2 2008
Newly created JV is now entering into another JV
