WTF Is CompUSA doing to my [deleted]?

Mill

Lifer
I bought a hi-val 12x 40x dvd-rom. The mofo spit cd's out constantly. Brand new ones too. I went and did an exchange. This one does the same but only worse!!! WTF?

Oh and I copied the model number into Google and found out HI-VAL doesn't make the drive BTC does.

Here is the model number: BDV 212B

If anyone knows of any firmware updates or help, it would be appreciated.

Odd...ever think maybe it's your computer?? I dunno, it's possible.

Maybe try it in a different computer if you have another.

BTC is low grade crap. I have a couple of distributors that are always trying to faub off their garbage CD-ROM drives on me. They're cheap in price for a reason.

Dammit. I have tried like 5 different systems. It does it on all of them. What all do you have to do to get your money back at CompUSA?

Let me see how would you get your money back from CompUSA.
Lets take a wild guess here.
1.Is it within the return period? if yes go to step 2
2. Do you have the Receipt? if yes go to step 3
3. Do you have the Box and all packaging ? if yes go to step 4
4. Bring all of that with you and return the cd-rom.

Of course you milage and situation could vary..

What is CompUSA doing ? selling...

You bought it... What did they do ? run you down in the street, hold you down & make you buy it ?

LOL, I think I know what belongs in that space that is now covered with the word [deleted].

Millenium,

Many products are re-badged. It's common practice. Some of the best known and most popular brands are not manufactured by the company that labels them.

One of the most famous would be PC Power & Cooling, vendor of expensive power supplies. They don't make any of them.
