It's mentioned several time in "Rent". Something to do with smack, or whatever powder they were shooting. I haven't been able to find anything on it via google though...

Damn. I had no idea that Roger had HIV/AIDS in the movie. This was the first evidence that I've heard. Wow.

I'm pretty sure they kept this line in the movie:
Close on Roger: His girlfriend April left a note saying 'We've got AIDS.' Before slitting her wrists in the bathroom.

And then he immeidately goes on to sing "One Song Glory" where he dreams of "One song - before the virus takes hold."
