WTF is Amazon doing?

They have pushed back the expected delivery date three times (a total of two weeks time) on supposedly in stock items and I don't have the option to cancel since the items are "preparing to ship".

WTF!?

Call and ask? Tell them it's unacceptable and to either cancel and give your money back, or upgrade you to 2-day shipping to make up for the lost time.

I have not been happy with Amazon of late. I ordered stuff two weeks ago and out of the 4 packages, only two have shipped, and all were in stock. I even chose standard shipping instead of super saver since I didn't want to get pushed back. Maybe this is them pressuring us into Prime.

If this is indeed their new business practice they can go F themselves and I shall shop elsewhere.

They used to be so handy and very fast shippers as well

Yeah Amazon is annoying me lately. I ordered a digital camera 2 weeks before Mother's Day for my Mom. It was out of stock when I ordered, but I figured, how long could it possibly take them to restock? It didn't matter if the present was there for Mother's Day(I was taking her out to dinner anyway), but now the estimated ship date is June 1 - 16!! One and a half months for a super huge e-tailer to get in 1 camera? Sheesh.

I love amazon. They have interesting loopholes that wind up sending me free stuff all the time. I'd detail them, but then they'd probably get closed.

Free or cheap stuff from amazon = 🙂.

I got an Amazon catalog yesterday.
My wife gave it to me and I said, "I don't order from that hole. Wonder why I got a catalog???"
I got to thinking and I think I ordered something for my computer-illiterate sister-in-law that she saw there.

WTF!?

That happened to me on the last two items I ordered. I ended up cancelling.

Their site says:

"If the item you want to cancel has already entered the shipping process, it cannot be canceled by you or by our customer service department."

That's what it says but if you call them I doubt they'd deny it.

What are you guys ordering that's taking so long? I stick with books, CDs, and DVDs, and my Amazon experience has always been great. Most of the other junk that they added later is handled by a third party, not Amazon, so it takes longer and is less likely to get to you quickly.

Three DVDs.

You should apply for a job and tell them you are available with 2 weeks notice. Then when they hire you, you keep pushing it back for about a month and a half. Then the tables will be turned. When they try to cancel your job offer, you can explain that you are preparing to start work already and you cannot cancel at this time.

Well, they just did.

That is what I get from them, and they suck worse every time. They're too busy selling pots and pans to be bothered with keeping their book and music stock up to date.

Another thing I have noticed is their rebates suck. 10 weeks and nothing yet for $400. :| They keep saying it's in process.

Cell phone rebate?

Amazon certainly has gone down hill, I'll stop shopping there from now on. Taking 2 weeks to ship a book out when it is in stock is just not acceptable. I order from smaller stores like rima for my DVD-rs and they ship out the next day. Amazon with its amazing logistics that everyone in business rave about, is nothing but sh!t

now why the fvck would you revive this old thread?

Just ordered my S2 there, and when I asked Crutchfield to match their price, they said what Amazon was selling it for was below their cost. It took an extra couple days to ship, but it shipped exactly when estimated, and it will be here today...one day earlier than expected..

🙂

I'll add more to this thread. I ordered three items on Wed. and they were all estimated to be shipped within 24 hours. Now the ship dates are the 22nd and 24th.

This HAS to be a way to pressure people to buy into Amazon Prime
