5/10 packages never make it to me because my address it too long and they typically cant fit my apartment # on the package/envelope.... Damn mass mailing systems.....

Get this, even the fvking POST OFFICE THEMSELVES can't send me packages.... I ordered a bunch of free USPS postage supplies from their website a few weeks ago.... One of the boxes turned up yesterday at the front office, with the address of my building but then, Apt. <blank> Im still missing most of the other stuff.

This happens ALL THE FREAKIN TIME!

Luckily im moving in a month, but this freaking sucks.

EDIT: Here is another example of a package i just got today, that was supposed to come last week but they couldnt find me. Picture of Label

Tell that to every company i order from.

I always split my addy and put it in the second field, but something in their systems compresses/drops stuff...

It sucks.

why not try and abbreviate your street address to "XXXX C. Sarasota PKWY Apt XXXX"

I do, many shipping systems change it to what the shipping company prefers....

Plug an address into USPS Click & Ship and see what i mean... They seem to all spell them out they way they want to no matter what i type.

hehehe, math geeks :D

i was thinking the same thing :p

i am a geek like that too. a few years ago a friend of mine called me up asking if we were still up for the movie that night, and whether or not i was going to bring a date. i confirmed that i planned to come with the gf, but i gotta ask her if she already had other plans for us, so i told him that there's a... well, maybe 87% chance that we're coming.

i didn't even realize that anything was funny until he finished laughing his ass off and told me what a dork i was.

Ok, here's proof, it HAPPENED AGAIN.

Monster Cable sent me some missing cables that never came in the last order, check out the tag....

Picture of Label

This was supposed to be here in the middle of last week, but of course, they couldnt tell which apartment. It just came today, this ALWAYS happens, no matter what company i order from.

Had that problem too. Easy fix is using the second address line. Example

1249 W Onelongword Ave
Apt 155
SomeCity, CA 94652

EDIT: Oh yea, even before I figured out to use the second line, I didn't miss any packages. My postman (or front office) is great. They tracked me down and put a sticky on the mail saying to include my apartment number on a second address line.

you could even list your apt first in the address

like XXXX - 1234 Central Sarasota PKWY

A lot of bills come to my address like that.. even though i dont put it that way.. so it must work.

Check my picture above.

I swear they can just add another line with your apartment number. Just for that, I'm ordering a set of speakers, having it shipped ups, scanning, and posting the picture. In this thread. You just wait for it!

Well i know they can, but they dont.

Whenever i order stuff, i use the 2nd address line, but typically companies change it to whatever their system likes, and in my case they love to stick the whole damn thing on one line (as pictured) and it dosent fit....

The stuff i just got from USPS themselves shows XXXX Central Sarasota Pkwy Apt. <erie blank>, while in the order form i put my apartment on the second line.

UPS should have more lines to put stuff for the label. It usually goes:
Company Name
Phone #
Name
Address 1
Address 2
City, States Zip+4
