Our cleaning lady is still cleaning. I arrive home after a sweaty 10 mile ride to find two women cleaning my house and their two young children hanging out playing with my son's toys...that was at 6:45PM...It's almost 8PM and she's still freaking here!!!
This happened two weeks ago when she was here last too. I'm getting ready to fire her ass. This is ridiculous. :|
Update-My wife had me make her a sandwich. And me being the big pussy I am made her one....
what are you? Rich or something?
Here it's only $45 for them to clean the kitchen, bathroom, and dust the main rooms. Well worth it, IMHO.
Um, I'm sure you can spend $15 on some 409, sponges, a duster and a broom and do it yourself many times before you have to restock.
Or just don't be a slob and clean up after yourself.
Because your time is worth nothing?![]()
If you take 15 seconds to clean up after yourself, you can spend 10 minutes over the course of a weekend to do a little more detailed cleaning.
no, everyone has their own priorities and that is ours... we don't want to spend time doing hardcore cleaning so we have a lady come in and do it... so what?
No, if you clean up after yourself there won't be any hardcore cleaning needed to be done. Then when the weekend comes, just take 5 minutues on Sat and 5 minutes on Sun to clean stuff that you didn't get to before. I'm SURE you can take a few minutes off from sitting infront of the computer to do such a simple task.
Now, if you have like 5 kids and work 12 hours a day, OK, but otherwise stop being so lazy.
please don't tell me how to clean MY house... and you have NO idea how or what are lives are like... cripes... and a house needs hardcore cleaning at least once a month. thats how i feel anyways.

Hmm... I'm not sure what to make of this little rant. Does this mean that iamwiz and lolawiz are lazy slobs that don't clean up after themselves, or are they wacko neat freaks who polish every nook and cranny in their house? Either way, I'm![]()
Besides, who in the hell uses a BROOM to clean the inside of their house? You need a friggin' vacuum cleaner and maybe some swiffers for that. A broom would just push the dust around.

You have an outhouse? awesome. That's living it up that is. Now, when you say, 'tidying up' is that because the SO can't aim properly?![]()

call us slobs if you want just because we like someone else to really clean our house. ... we clean out house when it needs tidying up, but i am not going to get down on my hands and knees and scrub the grout between the tile in our bathroom. :| I pay for what i want because ITS MY MONEY.... again, why is that so hard to understand?
And, oh geeze... i am worried because a random person on the internet is calling me dirty.
As a matter of fact, i think i will call our cleaning lady now to clean once more before our vacation.

So how much does a cleaning lady cost? Keep in mind, I'm in the Dallas area.
We were looking for someone to come by, maybe one 8-hour day a month and help my wife with some major cleaning. Either that, or someone to come for ~2 hours every week for dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, straightening, bathrooms, etc.
We're not rich by any means, but are pretty busy, and with 2 kids, the house can sometimes get out of hand before we have time to address it.
What's the going rate? Minimum wage? Beter to find someone via word-of-mouth, or talk to a service?

Wow, it's amazing how fervent someone can get about something so completely irrelevant to themselves- criticizing another for using a cleaning lady to clean their home? Crissakes, it's their fvcking job, and they make good money in such an occupation that offers decent pay at flexible hours, for someone with a limited skillset (adding "most likely" here, for you queers that jump on everything). Next time, ask a cleaning lady to join your little activist crusade and see if they don't spit in your face. Pretentious douche.
I have a cleaning lady as well, and contrary to what some might think, it's not because I get a rise out of having someone performing chores for me, or because I have nowhere else to spend money. It's because I've calculated my finances, weighed the amount of time it would take for me to clean myself versus the final end result of how clean the place actually ended up becoming - and I've decided on using a cleaning lady. $50 for 2 hours, once every 2 weeks? Yeah, indulgence overload :disgust:
So next time you decide to b!tch about something and play the high-horse card about something you're obviously completely uninformed about, and will likely remain so forever - bite your tongue and learn the quick way how to shut the fvck up.
