I don't know why, but hearing "experience" in this context seems to generate an odd feeling: something ancient, something violent. They've taken front page real-estate away from the product they're selling and the product reviews, and given it to woot-pod-casts and woot-blogs?
I'll tell you exactly what happened. Some idiot in their marketing department got hold of their corporate roadmap and now they've completely forgotten the point of woot.
I can hear the conversation now. "We don't want to compete on price anymore. We just /can't/. So we're going to up-feature the site and give customers more of an experience to offset our lower quality and higher-priced products!" Pointy-haired-bosses nod heads all around, and another website helps their long slide into obscurity turn into a race to obscurity.
Newsletter canceled, and bookmark deleted. I got tired of checking, only to find crap, and all the sister sites ruin the the concept. I loved that place for a long time. I still have a bunch of mp3 players I use, or give away on occasion, and my primary Sansa is still going strong.
