I have a fairly typical Texan attitude toward France, but I wouldn't cheer if this happened there. In fact, I wouldn't cheer if it happened anywhere. It's a sad commentary on the human race that it happened at all...even more so that someone would cheer about it.

Who are we at war with?
Gabriel: Anyone who infringes on America's freedom. Terrorist states. Someone must bring their war to them. They bomb a church, we bomb 10. They hijack a plane, we take out an airport. They execute American tourist, we tactically nuke an entire city. Our job is to make terrorism so horrific that is becomes unthinkable to attack Americans.?

I was thinking about what if that happens in china. terrorists don't have a chance; every man that looks like mideast will get arrested.

What is clear, though, is that the fvcking BS rhetoric from this admin that "America and the world are safer" is now completely and utterly without basis. Attacks like this will continue no matter what countries are invaded and no matter what sanctions are imposed upon others. There will always be a fringe element seeking to cause death and destruction.

Better security at home at ports, chemical plants, transportation hubs, trucking industry, etc. is what we need, not more bombs and bullets.

Oh yeah. THAT'S gonna work!

Crime? Screw going after the criminals! Hide in your homes and barricade your doors!

Bees stinging you when you walk outside your door? Screw finding the hives and destroying them, better to wear a bee suit every time you leave your house!

Your answer to terrorism warms the hearts of terrorists all over the world, Conjur. You're exactly the kind of pussy they hope all westerners are.

Your plan is exactly what they want us to do: Run away with our tails between our legs and hide.

i don't think he's speaking yet. nothing on local TV, where i'm sure they'd be airing it if he were addressing the situation.

You are on shakey ground with that, but please keep the political shizzle out of this thread.

Just your basic "condolences for the terrorist attacks. Homeland security will be increased. Hope the terrorists are caught. Solidarity with Tony Blair and the British as a whole."

It was only a 5 min speech from the G8 summit.

The CBC is carrying a decent news coverage of this situation for a change.
