How bizzare is that?

Anyways meant to post this last night. Was reading PC Gamer and came across their snippet on GTA3 and it says it'll feature 16 player multiplayer games 😎
How freakin cool is that? Really hope that it does have multi, there are soooo many slick game types. Could do like a CTF but instead do capture the car, where you have to steal one from an enemy bidness and drive it back to yours. Races from point A to B. Man, just tons cool optoins, really hope they deliver.

Homelanfed reports in an interview with the folks at Epic that Unreal 2 never promised multiplayer, and won't be featured in the final game. Tell you that if you want multi you'll need UT2 (suprise...). Oh well I'll be buying both anyway 🙂

Epic has a separate multiplayer-game in the works called Unreal Warfare. It has all the multiplayer you could want!

Now that we have UT2 clearly in the picture, and ready to go before Unreal 2, it doesn't make a lot of sense for the dev team to expend their time and energy polishing multiplayer when they can use that time to polish an exceptional single player experience. The market has proven that this approach makes more sense and I don't think anyone will be disappointed by this once they've had a chance to play it. So to answer the question multiplayer will disappear from Unreal 2 in exchange for it being a bigger, better and more focused single player game. What will happen to the multiplayer assets already developed for Unreal2 is still a question. If players want the ultimate multiplayer-oriented game, Unreal Tournament 2 will already be available on store shelves before Unreal 2 ships. >>

Hmm, well I guess the faq is outdated, I haven't even knew about UT2 till now. Darn, that means I need to buy both games. Epic sure knows how to shake the money out of me...
 
I hope that GTA3 (PC) will have co-op modes, that way you could have "Gone In Sixty Seconds"-type
missions where your group has to collect 60 particular cars or have 16 heavily armed guys head into
Chinatown to wipe out the Triads once and for all.
 
GTA3 has so many multiplayer possibilities... they could put in a destruction derby, a militia game where you go and wipe out all the cops, ect... MUST BUY!
 
oh man, GTA3 multi.... sounds awesome. You could play the "who can hit the most pedestrians in the least amount of time" game 🙂
 
GTA3 will have multiplayer!!! YES!! This is the best news I've heard all day.

I just wanna be able to hunt people down and run them over like in GTA2. Or do drive-bys with the Uzi when someone least expects it...*drool*

A pedestrian killer game would be awesome too... given a certain time limit, see how many people you can take out... and at the end, you get points for the type of people they were, like hookers, police officers, ect... 😀 😀 😀
 
I hope they make the SDK available for GTA3 if it goes multiplayer. Imagine the cool mods that would come out. Anything the developers don't do could probably be done later on in a mod.
