I dont have the tools/space/time to change my own oil. Anyway I took it to jiffy lube, and had them add transmission fluid and coolant because i knew I was low. I drive about 6 miles roundtrip to work each day, and checked my fluids today. ~ 2 weeks after I had taken it in Im out of coolant (none in the resevoir) and my transmission fluid cap is missing.

Im trying to decide if they just forgot to add coolant or i am using it up that quick. My temps are on the low half for each 3 mile stint. Also I want to know where the hell my transmission fluid cap went.

grrr

ps disjointed post, sorry, im out ofi t

How much time does it take for you to cover those 3 miles? If it's less than 15 minutes from engine start to engine stop, you car should not get to normal operating temperature under any circumstances.

start to stop is usually 7-10 mins max, temps dont ever get to the halfway mark. Usually stay at the far left.

OK, that sounds about right. Not good for the engine to short-trip like that all the time, but everything seems to be functioning properly.

My friend used to work at Valvoline. After 6pm, it was 'time to hit the booze in the pit'. Occasionally the 'top siders' would come down for a nip or two.

I posted this before... my friend went to get an oil change there... they drained the transmission fluid instead and put oil in there.
