WTF @ Fedex

I had something shipped to my office via fedex. Well, as it happened the item arrive on Saturday and the office was closed so it mentions in the tracking report:

Apr 10, 2004 9:13 am Business closed

Yet, there hasn't been a delivery attempt today. What kinda BS is that? They delivery here all the time, they should know that the offices are closed on Saturday. Even if they didn't why won't they make a delivery attempt on the next business day? I need this item ASAP.

Update:

Just got off the phone with Fedex and nothing but bad news.

1) You guys were right, the shipper (expert satellite) used home deliver method, even though I told them 3 times that it's an office
2) Fedex is using 3rd party for delivery and basically there is no way for them to contact the carier to change either the destination or time of delivery.
3) The fedex guy said that he'll send message to carier but he can't promise they'll read it.

So now most like they'll try to deliver one more time and then send the package back to the sender. Meanwhile, I'll be here without TV. Argh...

Update 2:

OMG - THEY STILL HAVEN'T DELIVERED. Now I'm fuming!!!!

The 3rd party called me yesterday and I explained to them that it's a business. I told them that they have to be there by 4 (business closes at 5:30), left them my cell phone, office extention and receptionists extention!!! They still haven't delivered. I called fedex explained what happened and the lady just transfered me to 3rd party, where I got the machine. Fedex seems to maintain the attitude that it's 3rd party's problem, not theirs. Seriously, WTF? Somebody give me some breathing exercises, because I'm about to bust a vein in my head.

Here's a brilliant idea: call them and fvcking ask where it is. Whining about it here won't get your package to you any sooner.

That is what exactly what I was going to say, but wait what you need to know is to call them and wait on the phone lastly what you need is to ask them where your package is.

FedEx Home Delivery service - the only one of its kind dedicated to residential customers - now connects to virtually every home in the US. What makes this service special is its residential-only delivery network, the flexibility to customize delivery to suit your recipient, and a money-back guarantee.

Thank you captain obvious. Who's to say that the shipper or FedEx didn't get mixed up and it got routed through an FHD Delivery Center?

Sorry for all the typos, was running out of the office as I typed that. Yes, I can call them but what good is it gonna do? They'll just give me a BS excuse and say that they'll deliver tomorrow. Well, I cna pick it up myself tomorrow. The package is DirectTV installation, so obviously I wanna get it ASAP so that I can get it installed.

If they haven't delivered by 6pm, chances are they're not gonna deliver today. For some reason it didn't go to the hub in the same town as me, so I can't pick it up either.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. For me however, FedEx/FedEx Ground is far superior to UPS.

Have you called the place you bought it from? They'll have a bit more sway with Fedex when it comes to get it delivered right.

I don't have much experience with FHD, but I deal with regular Fedex all the time. At this point, it sounds like it would just be easier to pick it up at whatever station its at. Fedex usually only attempts 3 times before returned the package to the sender.
