So i just overclocked my e6400 to 3.2ghz at 400fsb, then i started up a game and its slower then at stock speeds? I downclocked it back to the stock fsb and faster then at 400fsb.
Later i changed the fsb to 401 and the game runs like it should, much faster then at 266fsb.
What the fudge is going on?

I think going between 400FSB and 401FSB you are changing memory straps, but I don't think at 400FSB your chip is supposed to perform below stock. That's weird.

Define "slower" in the game. Do you get bad frame rates? Bad load times? Other than FSB, what have you changed - voltages, memory timings, etc.? What kind of heatsink are you using?

Chances are, you're running into some kind of memory divider / asynchronus memory configuration that's causing it to seem slower. I know with my previous system things ran horribly if I changed certain things with the memory (which would allow me to overclock higher, but the computer would run horrible).

I would just go with 401+ FSB and be happy ;)

Slower as in my framerate dropped by a 3rd, i only changed the fsb.
Well im not too worried, i set it to 401fsb and thats that. Now all i need is a 8800gtx likethe one in your sig :)
