WTF???? DVD wants to change region!!

I just tried playing a DVD on my computer and when the program (Win DVD) comes up it says confirm region change.

Everything but China is grayed out.

I checked in control panel and the DVD Rom is set for USA, but each time I start Win DVD the same thing comes up.

The box says previous region USA on the left side and on the right side China is checked and it won't allow me to un check it!??!?!!?

Anyone know what the hell is up with THIS??????

No it's The Shining. And I watched it on here a day or so ago and it worked fine...

That's weird.

I flipped it over and side two worked OK.

Then I flipped it back to side one and now it seems to be working OK!:Q😕😱

Yeah, I wondered if inserting another disc would reset it. Flipping it over did the same thing. Look for smudges on the disc. The area where the region data is encoded might have been hard to read.
