Mill

Lifer
It just hangs.

Here are my specs right now.

T-Bird 800Mhz
Gigabyte 7ZX-1
640 megs PC133
Promise ATA 100 Card
WD 30GIG ATA 100 drive
WD 13 GIG ATA 66 drive
Hi-Val DVD 12x/52x CD
Diamond Fireport 40 Card
ATI All in One Rage 128 32 meg
SCSI Yamaha Burner
250W Power Supply
Creative Labs MP3+ RTL Sound Card
Allied Telesyn AT-2400 Network Card
Com21 Cable modem.

I have that same problem with my 1.1 Ghz Athlon and Asus A7V. When I either shut off the comp or restart it hangs, not during those operations, but when system starts up again. I then have to shut it off again before windows starts and then it will boot up properly.

Noticed it after bios upgrade, I think I may have to ?degrade? back to original settings.

It doesn't do this when I had windows ME on here. It actually ran a whole lot better.

GRR...

/me grabs Mandrake Linux Box.

BTW if you know where to get WIN2k Pro or Workstation PM or e-mail me.

My Kt7-raid was doing the same thing,I tried a bunch of drivers & nothing would cure it.

I finally fixed it in the end, turns out my Intel 10/100 nic was doing it. Try updating your Network card drivers to the latest.

Macro2,

I tried all those other fixes and at least for me nothing worked,in my case updating the nic drivers worked.

But yes there are a few fixes from microsoft that you should try before.
