i think it's just a bug in firefox (or the forum software) that makes it dock automatically in firefox

I've been using the quick reply box for quite sometime. With IE it can be docked and undocked. It is undocked by default so you can't see it unless you hit a little icon.

I use Safari and Moz on my Mac and Moz and IE on my PC all have quick reply and I use it all the time.
