In college I took 22 credits one semester, while working 60-80 hours a week... 35-40 overnights at target, and 25-40 at a computer lab.

Match that and i might start to feel sorry for you (Why the hours? roomates ditched a 2br apartment on me, and I had to handle a 1200 monthly rent payment + utilities + costs for college)

Either you're a sympathy case or you think the OP is trying to compete. Get over yourself please.

This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever heard on ATOT.

Do you have homework and studying to do when you get home from work? Do you have programming assignments, after work, which take 30 to 40 hours each, with one due every other week? STFU. Just because you didn't go to college or didn't work hard doesn't mean that others don't.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! Wrong again. I work full-time, have an adopted kid (none of my own yet), attend school in the evenings (I've taken up to 15 credit hours and worked full-time, taking 9 this semester), am married and serve in the Army Reserve as well. Also, I'm a Network Security administrator for DoD, so yes, I do work at home watching the firewall and IPS systems while I sit at home. I have multi-million dollar contracts that I plan and organize as well which requires drafting diagrams and doing research all the time at home. Hell, college is easy by comparison so stop thinking that your life is hard while you're attending college full-time. If I could do nothing but go on campus and go to school, I'd probably take 21 credit hours a semester just to keep myself busy, so stop making assumptions that I don't know what I'm talking about. I've done more in the past 4 years than any full-time college student could ever handle, regardless of their major, trust me.

I'll certainly stop making assumptions, if you do too.

College is like work for lazy people who want to party all the time.

Did you walk to school with newspapers tied around your feet. while dragging the nearly dead corpse of your grandmother on your back, and simultaneously caring for 6 kids, and a dog?

Allow me to restate this more simply.... SHENS... 22 + 80 + 40 + 40 = 182

7 x 24 = 168

Can we say SHE-mutherfvcking-NS

EDIT: Even if you meant you worked 80 hours a week and took 22 credit hours... I still think you're full of sh!t.... and even if your not... you're still just an attention whore...

Now why don't you climb down off your horse and STFU.

When I was in college I never scheduled any classes before 11:00 Am due to hangovers and not past 4:00 p.m because it invaded happy hour.

lemme tell ya, nothing i love more than an old "my life is worse than yours" argument.

let me just congratulate all the posters in this thread who were able to take the time out of their amazingly busy lives to post and say they have no pity for this kid because their life is harder. you win! your life sucks more!

to the OP: sorry to hear about the schedule, hope you like seeing the sunrise :)

Unfortunately I don't have the privelege of scheduling my own classes. They do it for me.

Yeah, I just decided to ignore them. No point in arguing to see who has/had it the worst.

Waking up won't be a problem though. I'm up every week day at 6 so I have plenty of practice.

Just 300 or more?

Well, 34 hours on a bad week. On a good week it's less since some labs and stuff occur every alternate week. I'm not sure how if I'll have everything one week and nothing the next or if there's some mix and match going on there.

you have to completely and utterly fvcking suck at life to need to work that much.

22+60+35+25 = 142 hrs a week, base.

7x24 = 168 hrs a week

that leaves 26 hours to do random stuff each day. since you worked at target, i'd assume it took you about 10-20 minutes to get to/from work each time. so thats about 1-2 hours gone. going to/from computer labs 20 minutes round trip, another hour gone. waking up each morning and brushing teeth/eating, 30 minutes. getting home and showering and getting ready for bed, 30 minutes.

so after all of that, you have about 21 hours (3 hours of sleep a day) for a whole semester.

Good job with the math... I was lucky to ge 3hrs a day, like I said earlier, it was more like 4-6hrs once every 2 days

You forgot eating.... figure he spends at least 30 minutes a day eating... unless he ate while walking everywhere... which would mean significant time on the toilet and/or puking.

that doesn't seem possible - learning requires concentration - concentration doesn't happen when you are that exhausted.

I did, but that doesn't mean you said something wrong. You should have said, that leaves only 26 hours each week, not each day. You were breaking the hours up on a weekly basis not daily so stick with that context. Otherwise, you get funny posts like mine.

OK Im doing the math for the challenged here

22 credits class
80 (MAXIMUM work week)

I slept 4-6 hours every other day... so that 3x a week + 1 day of 10hrs of sleep = 12-18 hours + 10

22-28 hours. I lived 5 mins from target ,and 5 minutes from the computerlab/school. I studied for my classes at the lab when I could.

22 + 80 + 28 hours of sleep = 130 hours of of 164

That leaves 34 hours over 7 days, which is nearly 5 hours a day, in which I studied, traveled to and from school/work, showered. ate food, and maybe grabbed 30 min naps here or there

Im not on a high horse :) I only posted that to respond to the "Oh woe is me" OP who WAS posting for attention.

As for grades, I had all A's and B's until after midterm , then the second half I was burned out, a zombie, and was lucky to finish up passing my classes with C's... thats where my GPA tanked.

I did it, it wasnt fun, who gives a fvck, my entire point was to show the OP , dont worry, because it could be worse

College is like work for lazy people who want to party all the time.

I would LOVE to see you come to my university and prove yourself, smartass (Rogue). I had a professor that pulled a quadruple major in 4 yrs (he went here for undergrad + masters/phd). I have a friend taking 9-10 classes per semester, and I've met others doing that too, in addition to holding research positions and/or sports/other 'extra-curricular' activities. I'm sure you would breeze right through.

Yeah college kids party, but there are plenty who are also putting in the work & effort to make something of themselves.

I mean hell I'm taking 5 classes and that already amounts to ~20 (I think? I forgot already) hours in class. My gf is taking 5 (one of which is a lab) and that puts her at 25hrs/week in class. We come home, we do homework, we cook, clean, and do all that fun stuff.

Granted I doubt either of us spend as much time on work/school related things as you say you do. But that's not to say that others here do not.

So get off your pedestal & stop thinking that college kids are a bunch of party-going, beer drinking, pot smoking immature asshats. I could say the same about plenty of "working men."

-Eric

P.S. I'm doing a 9-5 this summer w/a lot of nights spent on the job and I swear this is so much easier than school. No I didn't spend the summer at home; I live alone & do everything for myself.
