The real question here is how you managed to miss being charged every month FOR A YEAR!

Because they never told me anything! I just got billed for the whole year at once.

Ok... that's just wrong. I'd call them up and tell them that they need to check their records, and that you haven't used their service in over a year. Hope it works out for you. Good luck.

Hahahahahahahaha.

How is this humorous?

It's not, CR just lives to insult people & the States - you don't know this by now?

Gurck is a repressed nerd who's condescending behavior would lead one to believe that someone actually gave a sh!t about him; a gross misconception.

Aren't generalizations based on text fun?

A local service here tried that crap with me several years ago.

And I had canceled.
Them "OH gosh, we have no record of you cancleing..."
Me "Well I did...you can stuff those charges. I've had DSL ever since I canceled over a year ago."

Them "Well according to our records some one has been using that service."

Me "Well if you had shut off the service when I called and told you to, that wouldn't have happened now, would it? I'm not paying you SH!T..."

Kind of the same concept as the 500 Lb. woman not realizing that the fibers from the couch were growing into her skin. Yikes!

I'm not gonna take them to court for $180.
You don't need to take them to small claims court. You simply dispute the charge with your CC company.

WTF? God damn, whats with the stupid people lately. How is he going to dispute with his CC company? He got a bill, they didn't charge his card.

Pardon me. If his CC was not billed but he received a bill in the mail, he really still simply disputes it in writing which is what he would normally have to do with a CC bill. He shouldn't nor anyone else get uptight about this.

Call them up and let them know there must be a misunderstanding about it.
Tell them that you cancelled their service about a year ago, and ask if they can clear up their mistake.

Maybe I misunderstood, but what you said was "simply dispute the charge with your CC company." That is what wouldn't work. Yes, he should dispute in writing, but not dispute with his CC company.

Huh? If a phone call to the ISP can quickly resolve it, great. If not he should dispute it in writing to the ISP and his CC company (if the charge appeared on his CC bill.) Until the matter is resolved he does not may to pay that portion of his CC bill and he is not liable for the disputed amount nor the interest it may incur on his CC bill. This is why you dispute the charge with your CC company.

Screw it. I'm just gonna pay the damn thing. It's not like it's 20 grand or something. $180 is just not worth the hassle.
