WTF: Damn movie -> TV Conversion

So I was sitting here finishing my last beer and having a bedtime smoke and the only thing on TV is Battlefield Earth on SciFi. Granted not the best movie in the world but decent none the less. Suddenly it is 7 minutes real-time into the flick and I realized that they have compressed the first half hour of the movie into these 7 minutes. Now, if you have seen this movie, these minutes describe quite a bit. WTF.... Bastards.

The X-Files (Not with DD)
Jake (Staring David Caruso)
Paid Programming
ATHF (Battlefield Earth is much better than this drivel)
Lilo & Stitch (I guess about the same)
The Screen Savers (Suck balls. Was better with Patrick and Leo)
MTV 1&2 (Do people watch this sh!t anymore?)

on a similar note, I heard some basic cable channel bought the re-run rights to the Sopranos. I'm thinking it will be tough for them to make the hour long HBO shows into 22min censor friendly shows with that one
