WTF ! Checking my paypal balance and someone is retracting funds?!!?

Some is retracting funds from my account, this is from a deal I did about a month ago. I believe it was a credit card purchase.....Whats this all about!?
 
Ok, im not really sure whats happend. It was an item on ebay and was done near the end of January. He paid me and I accepted and now it says its been retracted and pending?
 
hate tto tell u, but u are pretty much screwed.

paypal isn't goign to do anything about it. u're gonna be out the $$ retracted.

i reccomend u withdraw all your funds ASAP! and delete all your personal info from your acct, and close it, if u can.

 
Email paypal and submit proof of delivery (i.e. delivery confirmation). You will be in the clear as long as you shipped to the confirmed address the buyer specified and it was successfully delivered. If you don't have any proof of delivery, or if you shipped to a non-confirmed address, then you are screwed.

That sounds like a little far to go, I'm assuming the buyer wasnt happy with the product or is trying to rip you off.

I happen to like Paypal. Yes, they screw you at times but they're providing a service...the tradeoff in possibly being scammed isn't as much as the convenience of saving all that time

But yes, you will probably not get your money back

Looks like Paypal already spent the funds from their IPO and are looking for supplemental revenue. They probably hoped you wouldn't notice.

^^ hmm, this is very possible.

did you dupe the item in the first place?

if you did, that is a no-no and thats very wrong trying to make money off of that item.

if you didnt, and possibly got the item from someone else and then sold it, it could have possibly been a duped item that disappeared.

so try to talk with the person you sold the item to and ask him what happend.

to be honest, your SOL with paypal.

Wasnt a dupe, I know that for a fact.
 
A personal friend gave me the items in the first place and I know he didnt dupe them or get them from a duped source. Is there a reason paypal allows people to just reverse payments like this? If people have a reason to reverse a payment paypal should have a service setup so it can be done clean and legit.
 
Well.. sounds like in the future, we should all use BILLPOINT (yeah... it costs 1.5 - 3.0%, but less likely to get screwed from eBay), or BIDPAY (Western Union).

Every time I use PayPal, I get a little jittery, esp. reading all the horror stories on the AT sites.
 
non-tangible items are not covered by Paypal's TOS.

If a person is disputing the charge on a Diablo II item, the seller is screwed, no questions asked. Happened to me already.

I repeat, non-tangible items are NOT included in paypal's TOS.

One thing you might want to do to avoid this in the future, do not accept credit card payments via paypal. You WILL get scammed.
