We've already been through this, we're not talking about the 2010 equinox.

There's also the little fact that this thread is for the 2010 equinox. Let's try to keep it on topic so it doesn't get locked.

yo stop lying.

okay u obviously don't understand the flaw in your argument, the american workers can work a million hours, and produce x amount, it doesn't make them any better as a car company. the japanese may not need to work overnight 24 hour shifts and can still produce as much as the american workers. what numbers? do u know what eat person does every hour while at work? do u know how the internal structure of each company works? your argument is void here.

you're right about 1 thing, the 2009 sure sucks. and the 2010 is unknown so far because people haven't bought them yet and there is no long term data on it. GM DIDIDID just get millions of dollars from us to blow into making their new cars so the 2010 models BETTER be BETTER. its just a matter of how long they run out of our funding and start cutting costs and making shitty cars again.

wait, so the 2010 Equinox should be better because GM received money after already finishing all testing, necessary processes, validation, production line assembly, design, etc... because they got money afterwards?

i think those first questions, for yourself you can just say "NO" to ... GM has i believe, 2 or 3 of the top 5 most efficient plants in the world... do you even know the way this is calculated? it doesnt matter wtf they do while at work, it all gets calculated.

whats your next trollish argument going to be? something about how past GM cars sucked, so those today do as well?

go take a hike, id honestly throw in all kinds of personal insults here, but last time i did that via PM to you, your whiny ass went and bitched to the mods... so i wont.

nope, no more arguements about GM, since all of what we're saying is speculation and it all boils down to the next year (2010 model) of Equinox sales.

we'll see how well it does and we'll report back at the end of the year to see how well it sells against its competition.

throw insults in PMs? grow the fuck up nub

the CR-V is the best selling small CUV, that has never been debated, what is debatable is the fact that it is no longer the best in its class... because if we declare best in class by who sells the most, well... there are a ton of shitty cars that would be best in class in the past 2 decades.

I was actually pointing out that the CR-V and the Escape are pretty much tied. If the CR-V is so much better than the Equinox in the minds of consumers, it should be well ahead of the Escape. 😀

Interesting. I wouldn't have expected minivans to be included in counts for a truck segment. Especially when the Odyssey, Sierra and Caravan are all built on what are essentially car platforms and could more accurately be called crossovers.

Anyway - regarding the equinox - it's not a bad vehicle in my opinion. The segment is completely flooded though, and I can't see any amount of freshening changing that to any particular model.

I hardly think that a couple mpg should be the breaking point for why you do or don't buy a car. Hell, your driving style will more than make up for any differences, and if you're buying this vehicle FOR mpg, I think you're probably buying the wrong vehicle.

Lots of people look to mileage.
Its helps win the argument between two similar cars.
I worked with someone who kept coming back to mileage, and I said its a 10% difference or in your case $10 a month to drive the car you want. . .
Still was a tough sell

in my choice of cars, a mpg or two here and there dont really make a difference. it does, however tip the scale to a particular direction when you're out of things to balance out between two vehicles.

you're right a lot of people look to mileage, some look over it. in the end i believe the consumers are @ default smart people. they don't buy the worse car (for them), they don't buy the 2nd best car (for them), they buy the best car that suits their needs. we'll be back to see what the best vehicle (in this case the best compact/midsized now(?) suv) that suits the majority of people's needs in 2010. the winner this year is fortunately the cr-v that suited the most people's needs.

If you read C&D's review of the new SRX, they report a frustrating experience with the 6 speed auto. They ended up leaving it in Sport mode which behaved a little better. In the end this caused them to floor it a lot to get the trans to do what it should. They didn't report the FE, but I'm guessing it got nowhere near the EPA numbers either. 😀

I have read other reports of strange behavior from the Equinox's 6 speed auto as well.
