Why Burnitz? This guy is horrible. Look at his salary! We could of gotten something better. Don't Dodgers ever learn from their mistakes? :| :| 🙁 🙁

At least they finally did something.

Exactly but I thought the Dodgers didnt want to add payroll due to the potential sale of the team?

I guess they took on the 12 million in hopes, he will push them over the edge and into the playoffs.

DAMN DAMN DAMN :|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:| Dodgers are probably the only team who were willing to take Raul Mondesi off of the Yankees hands :|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:| Now they have Burnitz :|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|:|

do you watch baseball?? burnitz has been the best overall player for the mets. burnitz is AT least as good as brian jordan if not better.

he had a bad season last season but look at his previous 3 seasons and look at his numbers this season. plus all they gave away were 3 minor leaguers that may or may not make the major leagues AND NY will pay part of Burnitz's salary this year. next year, he's a free agent and they can just choose to let him go if they want.

truth is, they need OFFENSE now and this was a good move.

I want Pedro Martinez back and we could of gotten something better, like Brian Giles or Vladimir Guerrero.

Ok.

I'm sure the Expos would just give Vladimir Guerrero away for these same players. Who did you plan on trading to Montreal for one of the 3-5 best players in baseball?

I'm a huge Dodgers fan and I thought the move was good. They needed some offensive help and hopefully Burnitz can provide that. They needed to do something and replace Chad Hermansen in LF. In exchange, the Mets got 2 AA (one was mvp of his league) and 1 A player. Who knows what they can become but the Dodgers needed the offense now, not later. They are still a playoff contender and they have the offensive power, it just needs to be activated. They have Green who can provide 35+ HR, McGriff who can provide 30+ Lo Duca who hits for avg. Hopefully something will happen in the second half.

GO DODGERS!

you want brian giles or Vladimir for those three prospects? are you kidding me??

oh btw, guerrero with that disc problem probably won't play the rest of the season, what would be the point of getting him now?? and do you actually think pittsburgh will trade Giles right now??

sheesh, when your making suggestions for a trade at least make a suggestion that is remotely possible or realistic.

why would the dodgers trade away three prospects for a player that won't play this season (guerrero)??

to be honest, with his disc problem i'm hearing some people say that it might be career ending, that would be really really sad.

as it is, if you really want guerrero try to get him at the end of the season when he is a free agent and burnitz will no longer be under your salary cap (as he is also a free agent).

I think the Shawn Green bandwagon already fell apart for this season. He's easily one of the overpaid superstars at $14 million/season (he got the big $$ contract before he ever proved a thing with two solid seasons with the Dodgers). No wonder Sheffield felt disrespected.

This doesn't seem like a bad move by the Dodgers, but probably too little too late.

The pirates are entertaining offers for Giles, it's not like they're making a run at the pennant you know. Vlad's comin back in august.
