And now this.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon because I felt I needed a treat. Besides my safety razor (which I love) and shave set (which I also love) I ordered a media receiver for my car, dash kit, cell phone windshield mount and a tripod for my phone (I've had to use it as a camera a lot at work). I go to install the radio, spend an hour getting it all pretty and go to slide the dash kit in and its missing the mounting clips. Well shit. At least I have my phone mount. Nope, it doesn't stick to the windshield. FECK!

I go inside to talk to amazon and decid3 to check out the tripod. Thats missing the part to hold my phone. Its basically just a tiny camera tripod. Dicks! So I chat up amazon and they are cool. They don't want the mount or tripod back, they just refunded those. They shipped me a new kit overnight with no shipping cost. Ok.. I'm happy.

I get the new kit today and finally get everything buttoned up. I go to pair my phone with the radio and the bluetooth doesn't work. GRRRRRRRR. I chat with amazon again and I'm pissed. They were way cool again and overnighted a replacement for free and even gave me a partial refund.

But still..every item that could be messed up was.

Edit:
You guys are right. Amazon was awesome. Its all Obama's fault, not Amazon.

My 12 year old A/V receive went out the other day, but UPS delivered a new one from Amazon (2 day delivery) today, and I now have my surround sound back.

How is this amazon's fault? They are a middle man, you need to trust user reviews, not the fact that amazon sells the item.

I'm sure Amazon is thrilled that they went out of their way to please a low-margin customer, only to receive e-scorn on a fairly high traffic tech forum.

I still don't see how any of this is Amazon's fault. They more than accommodated you... you should be pissed at the product manufacturers that packaged the item(s).

That is unless you expect Amazon to open up the retail box of every item they sell... :hmm:

What a bunch of assholes, overnighting you replacements on their dime and not even asking for the defective stuff back.

That's exactly what is wrong with corporate America today.

I would very much appreciate it if they did!

Believe me...I know its not their fault. I'm just pissed that every damn thing on that order was busted. I want my shiny new toys dang it!

I'm going to edit. I've decided to blame Obama.

I am not a low margin customer. I order a lot from them and its usually high margin items. Especially with the crazy projects at work, I've had to buy a ton of tools and specialty stuff. I mean $100 roll of tape crazy stuff.

high temp aluminum tape that's rated up to 600C. I'm doing some really random things at work and I need to shield parts of the board from heat while trying to increase the heat on desired sections.

But that got ordered through work, so I guess I shouldn't claim that. Though the last work order was pretty random. Couple laptops, magnifying lamp, circuit board vice (this thing is awesome) and a couple bar stools.

I'm still not sure what the bar stools are for.

My wife complained to me in the car the other day that Amazon was replacing two books that she ordered and didn't want the defective ones back. Her complaint wasn't that the books were messed up, it was that they didn't want the messed up ones back. Ok...

Rudeguy, link the items you bought. You know if they're under 4 stars and/or less than 20 reviews they're absolute shit right? :)

I'd be pissed too if I ordered $200 of mass produced Chinese goods from the largest online retailer in the world who stocks millions of items at any given time and low and behold the Chinese fucked up several of the items after working only 18 consecutive hours in poor conditions. Then the retailer has the balls to overnight 2 separate packages probably costing them $50-$75 with their gigantic ass discount with UPS to remedy the issue, subsequently taking a loss out the ass on the entire order. Fuck them. Fuck them to hell.
