Great lighting and bump mapping, that is honestly better than 99% of the games out there. Not a single lightmap, and very weak geometry though, but the lighting is spot on.

Ran fine. Got stuck on a ledge when I tried to walk off of it. As a normal game it'd be ok. As a game that fits in 97kb it's very very impressive!
Must be the RAM usage then that's causing our problems...and RAM is going up! :(

It is so small because they left out all of the "extraneous" code out:

Collision detection and correction - I keep getting stuck on the terrain.
Reaction to getting damage - I didn't even know I was hit until I saw my health go up when I picked up a health pack (Apparently I was 1 hit away from dieing.)
Any real control scheme - where is the mouse wheel to change weapons? :p

Decent enough effort, but really shows me what you get with the extra code.

when i took my first comp sci classes, the first the instructor told us was "code can either be fast or small." sounds like this little nugget is evidence that that's true.

jeez some of you guys are hard to impress ;)
Being as its only 3 times the size of BF1942's README file, I'm not going to nitpick

I'm gonna test this out tonight on my XP 1700+ @ 2GHz, 1gb RAM and Radeon 9800 Pro and report back tomorrow :)

It just failed to load on my laptop (but then it is under the min. specs, with a P4 2GHz and Radeon 7500 graphics card :()

It just shuts down on my system, but I guess I system just doesn't fullfill the requirements (GF2MX). Crashes just like all new farbrausch demos on my system :(
As far as I heard RAM is very important.

The guys behind this project are from farbrausch (at least some of the farbrausch guys), usually they code demos. As mentioned, go to www.pouet.net for more of these (although 99% shouldn't be playable, they are intros and demos).

Damn, my old school was a breeding place for this sort of coders... someone from my ex-class is one of the farbrausch guys who coded .kkrieger, a few others are coding demos too, some did a tron in a few bytes competition (I think they did like 100-200 bytes for a running version of tron... assembler of course).

GF2MX = under the requirements :p
