Go here and download this...

I'm at work and am unable to run this b/c this system is a POS. The screenies look amazing for a program that a 1/10 of a MB.

The readme says:

"We do .not. have some kind of magical data compression machine that is able to squeeze
hundreds of megabytes of mesh/texture and sound data into 96k. We merely store the
individual steps employed by the artists to produce their textures and meshes, in a very
compact way. This allows us to get .much. higher data density than is achievable with
normal data compression techniques, at some expense in artistic freedom and loading times."

Wow....anyone wanna load this up and check it out for me?

A buddy of mine tired it out and said it was cool. But he's easy to impress :p

I get a loading bar for 1 sec then it shuts down. I am thinking this is a little fishy.

Surprised you haven't heard of this yet ... I thought the "tiny demo" scene would have been big around here, what with the nerdiness implied.

There are tonnes of these things out there... A friend of mine has a full 700MB cd FULL of 64kb demos. Some of them last for about 10 minutes and have full sound effects and music, as well as amazing looking graphics. If I remember correctly, they end up displaying around 20 gigs of uncompressed data to you over the demonstration, and they can fit that into 64kb. Truly the ultimate coding efficiency test ;)

I remember trying a similar one that was 64kb last year. Yep, it really does work. I was amazed too!
