hehe i had a 512mb 6200, it was completely worthless, didn't overclock to save it's life, and didn't unlock either being teh newer core :p

It's called, toss whatever gimmick novelty product out there we can and hope we can shell a few bones for it from the unsuspecting consumer. It's more common with lower end cards. ATi is good at this though I think I've seen Nvidia do the same thing (but not recently) Ati seems to have a different card model/refresh every other month and their naming convention is also a bit more misleading than Nvidia. x800xt x800xl x850xt x850xtpe x800gt etc etc.

This seems pretty unecessary - it seems unlikely to me that the card would even be able to use 256mb, but 512?

I might actually get two of those and link em up in xfire if they get a mastercard. Would be a good card to play mmorpg's on a 15 inch lcd or something. Help with loading large textures.

x13s won't need a mastercard.

ZStream,
But do you really think that will be faster than 1 6800GS or X800GTO?

I say it will not be and worring over what games are and are not able to use crossfire/SLI is a waste when you can have something the same price, faster, and more convinent.

Just my $.02

Im surprised no one argued yet that 512 is necessary for AA/AF at 2048x1536 yet.....(good).

hey n7 . that card should be as fast as an 9600XT ! so two of them crossfire should be able to play HL1/CS/Quake 3 @ 2048x1536 ! so it is possible !
