On prime95, click on options => torture test. Select Small FFTs and hit OK. Let it run for about 10 hours to make sure you are 100% stable.

On a different note ... my Radeon 9100 got about 2000 in 3DMark03 if my memory serves me correctly. It was and AGP card, but I wouldnt' think that would make that big of a difference.

See that's what I was thinking. I thought 1000 would be the low bar but when it came back 700 I was a bit taken aback. I guess you can't polish a turd.

I've been reading about the Nvidia IDE driver. Is this a real problem or should I be ok? Because I installed the driver package from the Nvidia website, not the ones on the CD. Did I screw that up?

Well, the Radeon 9100(8500) was a better card than the 9200, and the 9250 is just a revision of the of the 9200, I believe. Add the fact that it's a PCI card, and it makes perfect sense that you're getting about 700 in 3dmark03 while Cheesepoofs is getting about 2000.

Yes, run 3dmark01 asap. I'm really surprised that card ran 03.

I'm pretty sure that that card can't run like 75% of the tests in 03, hence partially wy it has such an abysmal score.

This might explain a few things as well. I looked the card up, and it's a DX8.1 part, has a core/mem clock of 240mhz/400mhz on a 4 pipe pixel pipeline architecture, and comes in 64bit/128bit memory width varieties.

Yeah. the 9250 is really a dog of a video card, but still my 8500 got 8k in 01 and about 1.5k in 03 with a barton@2.2ghz. that was agp though. If you bought a PCI-E mobo a 6200 or an x300se or something. While they suck, they don't suck as bad as a 9250.

9.5 hours is good enough for most users. I usually only do 8, but many here like upwards of 24. Ah well. Clark, you probably have a 64bit version of the card. That stinks, but I guess it doesn't matter since it won't be used for gaming.

Yeah the card blows. Im not worried about that as much as the instability many have had between the A8N-e and the Corsair Value Select running in dual channel. There are a few threads about it in the MB section.
