Just read a bit over at Tech Crunch, while they get a lot of things wrong at TC, I suspect they're correct on this one, that this is an official controlled Apple leak, and that when not enough people were paying attention, the WSJ story was updated to say that it was definitely happening.

They already have big disparities between the 3G, 3GS, and 4.

Right, so why would they create a larger disparity?

If the iPhone is indeed comin to verizon early 2011, it's gonna be an all out war between iOS and android. ATT is gonna have to create an incentive.

Because Apple is only currently selling 2 phone models versus everyone else's numerous offerings.

Right, and devs are having to deal with people complaining about low res apps on the iPhone 4. Or for apps that have separate versions of the app for iPhone and iPad... So people already have to buy the same app twice in some cases.

On China Telecom...apparently they run a CDMA and GSM network side by side. Vendor locks aside all of the iPhone sold in the USA, Europe, etc. are the same as those sold in China.

What frequencies does Verizon own?

They should just update their network to HSPA and stop using that crap tech CDMA. That's what Bell/Telus did in Canada last year. It didn't take long, and their network's been excellent from the start.

Verizon is moving to LTE.

I can't believe you guys are debating this crap again.

You are debating an imagined future. Do you not see how that doesn't make any sense?

You might as well be debating what color the 2025 Volt should be.

The same way you keep dreaming of a Android tablet?

The speculation goes both ways.

You mean the one that I linked to that you can order right now?

Logic fail

Walked into Best Buy a few days ago, was there an Android tablet?
Nope.

Walked into Target the other day, was there an Android tablet?
Nope.

Please enlighten us as to where the average consumer can go and get an Android tablet because all of the places the average consumer buys electronics doesn't carry the product.

Your point was that I mentioned Android tablets and they don't exist. They clearly do.

Amazon.com

A lot of people buy things from Amazon, so don't tell me the "average consumer" doesn't shop there.

I hope Verizon does finally get it, not because I want one(I don't) but it'll hopefully push Motorola and HTC to make even better Android offerings to compete.
