If i had the money, i'd save a few grand more and buy a 350Z. That car is fugly. Sorry just personal opinion.
Depends on what you want from a car. If all you want is looks and are willing to sacrifice passenger room, cargo space, and AWD and are willing to pay a lot more, then by all means buy the 350Z. If you want the complete package: performance, AWD traction, passenger and cargo space, all for $10k less, get the WRX. I could have easily gotten the 350Z, and was very tempted to do so, but looks ain't everything.

yup. insurance is less too.

A LOT LESS. I was shocked when I found out just how cheap the insurance would be. Insanely low for a new car with respectable performance.

its still a compact sedan, thats why. and that WRX hasn't yet entered their actuarial tables yet. another few years and a new WRX will probably have much higher insurance than they currently do.

respectable? Check my numbers above. It has a power to weight ratio DAMN near a Mustang GT AND has all whel drive AND has a short wheel base AND has a strong aftermarket community.

That picture of the black wagon IS ugly, but so are saabs and they are my favorite.

My baby was an 87 900 turbo 3 door with wastegate udjusted for more boost before Blowoff, rising rate fuel regulator, 3lb injectors, larger intercooler and ductwork, coolair intake from K&N through fender, aluminum BOV, red apc for more boost under load, lowered with intrax and running 16" aeros-then she got t-boned and I had to salvage her ;(

The wrx is a hot rod though 😉

A wagon can't be sporty - it reeks of "grocery hauler", maybe something a mom would drive

Umm... you're thinking of SUVs.

Hah hah, true dat. They're both ugly IMO, but the wagon is more practical unless you actually have the cash to take it out and play.

right, because the wagon version is WAY slower and handles WAY worse. oh wait, it doesn't? what were you talking about again?

Ugh...
No.....?
Both sedan and wagon have this same engine (227 HP). The performance of the wagon is on pair with the WRX sedan...
This is the best car right now to buy. I am getting it for sure, brand new from the dealership...

You know people call RX-7s Rex right? I'm not sure you should be calling your WRX a "Rex". That's like the guy with the Escort ZX-2 calling it a Z.

Audi RS4? not sporty? 😕

Actually, I've known quite a few people who own RX-7's (I had a few close friends years ago who were early 80's enthusiasts, about the same time I was into 240Z's) and I've never heard a single one of them refer to their car as a "Rex." "R-X" I have heard often. On the other hand, it seems that everyone I talk to who owns a WRX refers to them as "Rex." You should check some of the Subaru owners' forums, etc.
Anyway, I changed my sig to reduce any further misunderstanding. 🙂

Well put. The 300 HP Volvo V70 R sport wagon also seems plenty sporty to me!
