Hello all,

Recently I got upgraded to DSL Extreme from Bellsouth. I don't see a whole lot of difference, speed test shows that I'm only gettin 1800 down but I am getting 320 up, so that is a definite improvement. Anyways, I am just now noticing this problem since upgrading to the extreme but to be honest I think it was happening before, I just was not paying attention. My speeds on wireless are 90/320. I'm getting the full upload, but only a small fraction of the download.

This is a problem because everything I have is on wi-fi. I have two desktops that are constantly on, one that is on sometimes, two laptops on alot, but not always, an xbox, and another desktop for a few weeks out of the year b/c of coming home from college. I even want to get a wifi adapter for my printer.

I have nothing wired in. Yesterday I tried plugging my laptop directly into the modem, connected and got over 2000 down and over 320 up. I connected it to the router and plugged myself in there and they dropped a little, to 1800/320 but not a whole lot. When I unplugged myself, that's when it sinks way down, so it is definitely a problem with wireless. I was just wondering if anyone else has a wifi network as big and if they had similar problems. Here is my equipment:

WRT54G - G-Router
2 desktop on all the time - D-Link 54g PCI cards
1 desktop on occasionally - D-Link 54g PCI
Laptop #1 - Intel Pro 2100 (b) (centrino) Mini-PCI
Laptop #2 - Network Everywhere (Linksys) b, 22mbps capable PCMCIA
Xbox - Linksys B game adapter - Standalone
Computer home for just summer and vacations - Xterasys B PCI

I thought about changing my setting to a b-only network instead of a mixed. Am I just overloading this router?
