I've search some posts here for the same thing, but not sure the solution was there.

Just got a new WRT54G for better signal strength two floors up. I've got it flashed with the latest Linksys firmware (haven't tried any 3rd party yet). Have a Linksys WGA11B hooked up to a hub, which my son's TIVO and xbox are hooked up to. They work fine, although like my 600m they occasionally lose the wireless connection and it takes some time to get it back.

My son's computer can't seem to connect to the network. using an old Belkin USB adapter, I get an IP, etc... and it shows the signal strength as very good, but I cannot browse the internet or the network. Can't ping the router, etc...

There is no WEP on right now (can't get the game adapter configured yet), and no MAC filtering. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get this connected.

Any suggestions? Should I just pick up a new Linksys adapter?

1. As for the connection dropping issues this is obviously a fault of the router since both of the clients have the problems. Not to sell you on "h4x0r3d" firmware but I haven't had connection issues since switching to Sveasoft firmware.
2. As for the network browsing issue look under the Administration tab for Loopback (Interface). You should disable this.

Thanks for the response. Still can't find Loopback, so oh well.

Where do I find the Sveasoft firmware, and more importantly, once I upgrade, can I downgrade to the latest Linksys firmware is there is a prob? The router is new from Staples, so worse case I return it.
