WRT160N Randomly Restarting?

I have a WRT160N setup at college and for some reason it is like randomly rebooting. I will just be online and all of a sudden i'm searching for a network and the router is going through like a restart sequence with the lights. Anyone have any idea why it is doing this? It just started a few weeks ago, it has worked flawlessly up until this point. I have no idea what this has started happening.

Could be a firmware problem, or could be overheating if lots of stuff is on top of it or something. Id start by updating the firmware, if there is a newer version available.

It shouldn't be overheating, it's sitting on top of a bookshelf with nothing around it. How do I update the firmware?

Edit: I found a firmware upgrade thing within the router settings, but I have to browse and find a file, which I have no idea where I'm getting it from. Also, it says upgrade must not be interrupted, which makes me nervous considering it restarts randomly.

you have to download the firmware file from linksys' website. download it and remember where it is, use that file.

if youre nervous you can:
a- return it
b- get over it and flash it anyway. it doesnt take long to do the upgrade. maybe power it off for a couple of minutes first and try it as soon as it boots back up? *shrug*
