Wrong Version Repair Disc? What?

I'm trying to restore a Win7 install from a Windows-generated system image. I boot with the Windows Repair Disc, made on the same computer and get an error message that says the repair disc is not compatible with the Windows operating system that both the repair disc and system image were made from.

How is that possible? Wouldn't have anything to do with a failed Windows 10 "upgrade", would it?

Try a W7 installation disc if you have one.

I don't think it's the failed W10 upgrade.

If the failed upgrade is on your drive, I would format that partition before restoring the image.

I could see the happening if the repair disk was made prior to SP1.

Do you have another computer with 7 SP1 you can make a repair disc from?

Yes, I can make one from my laptop. I have to remove all the Win10 upgrade crap before I connect it to the internet first.
