Who the fark opens like that? "Janet, please."

No, you tit, it's, "Hi, may I speak with Janet," or some variation.

Rude bastard.

Correct reply:

"she's tied up in the bedroom right now, may i take a message?"

Its not rude. Obviously he/she doesn't want to waste your time. Unfortunately, he/she already did by calling the wrong number.

Um, that's no so rude. He did say please in the end.

It's not like he said, "Put Janet on the phone, you filthy cocksvcking motherfvcker."

That doesn't seem rude to me as long as the guy said "please" and wasn't using a nasty tone or something.

I should have been more descriptive because the individual barked the line so quickly I had to ask them to repeat themselves. When they repeated it, I told them "wrong number" and hung up.

and btw, you will run into phone etiquette like that among business persons who do not want to waste their time or yours.

"Hi, this is Nik with [company name]. May I speak with [client name] please?"

My company needs to set some phone etiquette rules in place, hardcore. We hired this lady about two months ago and she's, like, HORRIBLE on the phones. She's amazingly curt.
