well, being a doctor, I feel obligated to comment:
you should get the cut checked out to make sure you didn't injure a nerve or tendon
assuming you didn't, the cut should be irrigated with a lot of water/saline to prevent infection
closing it with sutures would also be a good idea as 1) it'll heal much faster 2)less scarring 3) less chance of infection
if you don't close it with sutures it'll heal, but tissue will have to slowly granulate in, taking weeks
lastly, you should probably get a tetanus shot update since it was a metal item that cut you, and even if it looks clean, spores of tetanus can could still be on it, and believe you me, you don't want tetanus.
