i just installed a SB live on my computer which has an ASUS A8V deluxe motherboard...how to I switch back to onboard sound, while still leaving the SB Live in? I wanna be able to switch back and forth between the two
 
1. goto control panel
2. goto sound and audio devices
3. goto audio tab
4. change default device to whatever.
 
I believe you have to disable the drivers in Device manager for the sound device you do not want to use...
 
For my onboard sound and sound card: i had to disable my onboard if my sound card was going to work...it would cause a conflict...i dunno if you will have the same problem but i'm just throwing in my experience with that scenario
 
ok, I disabled the sound card, but now i cant find the onboard audio in any of the places you guys told me to look...and after I disabled the sound card, i restarted and enabled the onboard in the bios...still no luck
